On Monday 23rd September 2019 we had the pleasure of welcoming our vine lease holders to the Chapel Down Winery to help celebrate the beginning of this year’s harvest at one of our oldest vineyards at the Tenterden estate.
Hosted by our Head of Viticulture, Richard Lewis, our vine lease holders set out with a pair of secateurs and a bucket. Then, under the watchful eye of our vineyard team, they were let loose to help with the 2019 harvest and managed to amass 4.5 tons of Bacchus fruit in just 1 hour and a half.
It was a pleasure to welcome so many of our Vine Lease holders to Chapel Down to take part in the harvest. We look forward to inviting our Vine Lease holders back for their summer celebration event where they can enjoy the resulting wine from this year’s harvest.
