These are challenging and worrying times for us all. In common with all responsible businesses the health and well being of our employees and our customers is our primary concern. We must do everything we can to prevent the spread of this virus – whatever it takes. Therefore we have taken the heart-breaking decision to close our bar, restaurant, shop and taproom at our Curious Brewery in Ashford whilst the crisis plays out. Only a few weeks ago we were so excited about the success we were having in giving our customers a fantastic experience and converting them to the pleasures of our beers wines and spirits.
In the interests of public health we are cancelling tours at both the Curious Brewery in Ashford and the Chapel Down Winery in Tenterden. We have made the decision to also close the winery shop but if you are getting stir crazy, a walk around the vineyards might brighten your day.
If you have booked a guided tour or gift experience at the Chapel Down winery or the Curious Brewery, your booking can be rescheduled for another date within the next 12 months. Equally, if you feel a friend or relative needs something to look forward to at this difficult time, vouchers are available for guided tours and gift experiences with 12 month expiration date. A vine lease perhaps?
For those of you who are spending more time at home, we are now offering free delivery on all of our products as well as some exceptional offers on our wines, beer and spirits. Please do stock up and please do support local whenever you can. We are so grateful for your support, especially at this most difficult time. Full details of our exceptional offers can be found at www.chapeldown.com
On a final note, whilst we are all likely to feel increased uncertainty in the next few days and weeks I am encouraging our staff to remain objective about the situation. As difficult as today seems, it will pass and we will return to a state of normality. Enjoy the garden springing to life and the dawn chorus. It reminds us that life goes on. And the spring shows us how life and hope springs eternal.
In the meantime, please let’s support one another, especially those who are less able to help themselves. We will be doing our bit and are encouraging our staff to try and help people in their communities if they can. It’s one of the ways we can help and small kindnesses make life much more bearable. Your continued support for our wines, beers and spirits is so important. It helps us retain jobs and create wealth for your local businesses and your communities.
And just think of the party when this is all over!
Thank you for your support.
